Youth Care Worker (Relief)

* Crestview, FL - Crestview Group Home (Residential Group Care for male & female residents)
* Headland, AL - Headland Group Home (Residential Group Care for male residents)
* Milton, FL - Gulf Coast Group Home (Residential Group Care for female residents)
* Mobile, AL - Mobile Babies First (Residential Group Care for adolescent mothers and babies)
* Scottsboro, AL - Scottsboro Group Home (Residential Group Care for female residents)
Job Summary: The Youth Care Worker works closely with the Group Home Manager to provide nurturing, direct care and supervision of adolescent males and/or females, or mothers and their babies in a group home environment. This will include parenting, managing and guiding residents physically, spiritually, educationally, socially and emotionally. The Youth Care Worker is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of daily activity logs, medication logs, and Medicaid Reimbursement Forms. This person may assist with the distribution of weekly allowance monies, assist children as needed with homework assignments. The Youth Care Worker will transport and supervise children during activities such as shopping, doctor appointments, church visits, field trips and other activities related to their growth and development.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED Certificate) required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. One year of experience working in a therapeutic environment with children, adolescents, and/or families required. Previous experience working with special needs children and/or adolescents preferred. Physical health that is adequate to participate, when appropriate, in residents' activities and the ability to lift and carry up to forty (40) pounds is required. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Proficiency in computer use and understanding basic word processing and spreadsheet software required. Valid driver’s license from state of residence required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing using the English language required.
