Assessment

We admit children with mild to moderate behavioral or emotional problems who may have been rejected from a previous placement because of behavioral issues. Assessment is a residential program, but is short-term.

Once a child is placed, we use assessment tools (tests), behavioral checklists, and healthcare professionals to assess the child in the following ways:

• Behaviorally - how does the child act emotionally?

• Psychologically - how are the child's mental functions?

• Medically - what is the health of the child?

• Educationally - how does the child perform in a learning environment?

• Psychosocially - how does the child interact with others?

As in all of our residential programs, we provide these troubled children a family-like atmosphere where capable caregivers help them know that they are loved.
