Adoption & Other Services

Adoption Support and Other Services

  • Adoption Home Studies

From our office in Troy, AL, we offer Adoption Home Studies to families seeking to adopt from local, US, and international adoption agencies. The process looks at family, marital, financial, and medical history, motivations to adopt, spiritual life and community involvement, and criminal background checks. Prospective parents complete a series of forms and undergo interviews and home visits by our staff.

Though our facilities do not have children for families to adopt, we are here to hold the hands of the parents preparing to enter this exciting stage of their lives, and to make sure the orphaned child has a supportive and loving family to come home to.

  • Family Aid

Often former residents or those in our Transitional Living Program find themselves in financial crises. Just as any family would support their own children after they have left the nest, we can provide financial assistance to our struggling alumni when the situation warrants it. This program is fully dependent upon private contributions.

For former residents who choose to go directly into the work force after graduation from high school, family aid may be available to help with the initial costs of setting up a household.

We offer these services to all of our group home residents and foster children.

  • Scholarship Program

Our Scholarship Fund provides for college or vocational training for any resident or foster child of the Children’s Home upon graduation from high school. Those who meet the entrance requirements of their target schools and who do well once enrolled are eligible for scholarship aid. This program is funded entirely by contributions from businesses and individuals.
