Living with a mother unable to be the parent they needed, Kimberly and her sister endured one tragedy after another. Around their home, violence was commonplace. Often they simply did not go to school. They saw no reason … no future of a life any different.
Kimberly came to the United Methodist Children’s Home about a year ago. Like the butterflies that visit her when she works in her very own vegetable garden, she has made a truly remarkable transformation. She is about to graduate from high school, is on the honor roll, and is looking forward to college. She dreams of a big family full of children and wants to adopt at least five.
“And we...are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” -2 Corinthians 3:18, NIV
Why was it the United Methodist Children’s Home that made the difference? We believe that the Spirit of the Lord is here.
He is... the love and care that the children are shown no matter how difficult their behavior or how painful their circumstances.
He is... the true, unconditional love that surrounds these children as we follow the example of how Christ loves us.
He is... the freedom – freedom from fear…freedom from hopelessness…and freedom to finally see a better future.
This ministry exists because you care enough about all God’s children to support it. Your gifts are the reason that Kimberly’s life has been transformed, and she will always know what you did for her.

For more than 75 years, the White Christmas Offering has given United Methodists in two conferences a way to partner with us to provide vital services to children and families in areas from North Alabama to the panhandle of Florida.
If you are a United Methodist and attend a church in the North Alabama Conference or in the Alabama-West Florida Conference, local volunteers will likely present an opportunity for you to give during the Christmas season.
