Children's Art Calendar

Our Version of Refrigerator Art - The Children's Art Calendar is our most beloved publication

February 19, 2008 - We are having technical difficulties with our internet voting for winners in the Calendar Art Contest. Stay tuned to this page, or subscribe to our e-news for the internet voting announcement.

The Children's Art Calendar is our most beloved publication.

Each year, we hold a Calendar Art Contest for the children in our programs. From the art submitted, pieces are selected to be included in the Children's Art Calendar. At the beginning of the year, we enlist some of our more famous friends to choose their favorites from among the art in the calendar (Read story).

Everyone who makes a donation to the Children's Home since the last year's calendar was mailed will automatically receive a copy of the new one in the fall. It's our gift to you! If you did not receive a calendar and would like one, contact the Public Relations & Development Office. They're free!

Need Multiples? - Churches may order multiple copies of the calendar. Go to the White Christmas Order Form to place your order anytime during the year or call toll-free 877-729-8624.

My you always give joy to others with your art talent which is a special gift God has given to you.

If my son Doug had lived in Selma he would have visited you and enjoyed sharing his artistic gift with each of you. My compliments to each of you as your crayons and paint brushes express your heartfelt feelings. Thanks and praise to the talented artists: Angel, Samantha, Clarissa, Teri, Bianca, Ethan, Al'lre, Rachel, Breanna, Zrica, Asha, Erica, Destiny, Krystal, and Erika who have shared in the heartwarming 2007 Art Calendar. Your beautiful Art Calendar has arrived at my house and I am having a great time looking at your artwork. I am so glad you are expressing yourselves in the wonderful way and here's hoping you continue to enjoy it throughout your lives. As you know, music goes hand in hand with drawing and my wish for you is that you have lots of each in your life. Aren't we so thankful that you have the UM Children's Home to support you and guide you into a rich and fulfilling life! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas and know that we love you very much.

Tips to Win

  • The best calendar art fills the whole page with color.

  • It is best to lay your paper with the long edges at the top and bottom.

  • Seasonal and holiday art are usually the ones to make it into the calendar.

  • Easter and Christmas are best if created using Biblical themes.

  • Christmas art is greatly needed. We recommend that you send in one (or more) piece of Christmas art along with one (or more) piece of art for another month.

  • Think twice about putting the name of the month on your piece. Leaving it off is preferred.

  • Try to remember not to sign your art on the front.
